10 Places to Visit in the Philippines for 2016

It's 2016 already! There's no better way than to start the year by planning your where-to-go list! Now, let me help you with that...



With its 7100 islands, there are plenty of travel destinations in the Philippines. Filling up you bucket list for this year wouldn't be that hard. But in case you can't decide where to go yet, here is my personal list of places you may want to explore:

El Nido, Palawan


There is no best word to describe El Nido but paradise. With its scenic beauty, white sand beaches and breathtaking sunset, it is no wonder that El Nido has been hailed as one of the best islands and beaches locally and internationally. Calaguas, Camarines Norte


Calaguas is a group of islands in the province of Camarines Norte in Bicol. One of its major islands is the Tinaga Island which is a two-hour boat ride from the jump-off point in Paracale. It may be a long and butt-tiring ride through the open seas but it's worth it! Once you are there, you'll definitely fall in love with its beauty!

Boracay



Boracay is one of the most visited beach in the country. Foreigners and locals flock in the island all year round. Aside from the powdery white sand beach and captivating sunset, Boracay is famous for its night life and never-ending list of activities that will surely make you feel alive. If you want a place for your next barkada getaway, you can never go wrong with Boracay.

Bohol


Many tourists have been hesitant to go to Bohol after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit the island. But I assure you, the disaster did not destroy Bohol. The province stayed intact and its white sand beaches and tourist destinations are now ready for you to explore. Help Bohol's tourism by putting it on your 2016 bucket list!

Bantayan Island, Cebu


Bantayan Island is located at the west of the northern end of Cebu Island. The island is famous for its picturesque view and wide stretch of fine white sand. It is the perfect place to go if you want to be away from the stress and pollution of the city life.

Ilocos Region

Kawasan Falls, Badian, Cebu


Less than an hour away from the town of Moalboal is Badian's most famous attraction --- the Kawasan Falls. It is  a three-stage cascade of clear and cool water from the mountain springs. Take a dip at the majestic waterfalls and, if you are brave enough, try canyoneering down the falls!

Minalungao National Park


Minalungao National Park in Nueva Ecija is the best option for people looking for some nature tripping near Manila. Many tourists visit Baler to ride the waves. But, the fun doesn't stop there! Aside from surfing, there are other activities and places you can explore around the province. There are various side trips you can add on your list if you find yourself wandering around Aurora.

Maniwaya Island, Marinduque


Aside from Bellaroca and the Moriones festival, Maniwaya Island is one of the reason why you should put Marinduque in your bucket list. The island is not a popular destination yet. So, it is perfect if you want some peace and serenity while relaxing in the white sand beach.
