Travel 2018: Dasol, Pangasinan

Because you'll never run out of beach in the Philippines!
Summer is the best time to visit Philippine beaches. This time my friends and I decided to go on a roadtrip up north and check out Tambobong Beach in Dasol, Pangasinan.

How to get there
We went there via private car. Tambobong Beach is completely waze-able, you will surely not get lost as long as you follow directions. Travel time is 5-6 hours from Manila.
One of the nearest landmark is the Burgos Public Market. Tambobong Beach is less than an hour from there.
Traveling via public transportation is also possible. From Manila, take a bus going to Alaminos. From there, take another bus going to Sta Cruz. Tell the driver to drop you off at Tambobong, Dasol. From the bus stop, take a tricycle going to Tambobong beach. Overall travel time can take up to 7 hours.

Where to stay
We didn't book any resort before going there. We were eyeing Cabanas Beach Resort but it was already fully booked when we arrived. Walking along the beachfront, we found Kuya Glen's Resort. We availed an air-conditioned room for PHP3000 per night.
Please take note that the resorts in Tambobong beach are simple and just right for your basic room needs -- bed, aircon and private rest room. There aren't any fancy resorts or hotels around.

Tambobong Beach
Honestly, I didn't had any expectations with Tambobong Beach. Our trip was spontaneous and I didn't had time to check on blogs and research about the place. I just wanna get out of Manila and enjoy the summer heat at the beach.
I have been to a lot of beaches here in the Philippines and I could say that the sand in Tambobong is comparable to that of Boracay. Maybe not as white as Bora but it has the same fine, powdery sand. The water is also clean and crystal clear. There are also no big waves! You can really swim and enjoy the waters!

Island Hopping to Colibra Island
Our group wanted to make the most out of this trip so we hired a private boat to Colibra Island for PHP1500.
Get your sunblock ready because their boats don't have roofs or covers. Boat ride to Colibra Island takes at most 30 minutes.
Once you reached the island, you have to pay for the entrance fee (which is already included in our boat rental fee) and additional PHP300 for the cottage.
I love Colibra Island! The water is amaaaazing! It was so hot but we enjoyed swimming in the beach.
Oh, it's not hard to love that blue hue! :) Overall, I really enjoyed this trip. I think we just found a hidden gem in Pangasinan.

Sample Itinerary
Here is a sample itinerary if you want to check out Tambobong Beach as well. We really had a lot of free time for swimming and beach bumming because we just want this to be a chill trip.
Shout out to my sister and beach friends! Next time ulit!
