Surfing and a lot more! :)

Baler is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the Philippines. Its wide beach is very ideal for surfing because of the giant waves.

Many tourists visit Baler to ride the waves. But, the fun doesn't stop there! Aside from surfing, there are other activities and places you can explore around the province. Here are the side trips you can add on your list if you find yourself wandering around Aurora.

1. The Old Balete Tree

Located in Maria Aurora, Aurora (30 minutes from the town proper of Baler) is the famous 600-year old Balete Tree, also known as the "Millennium Tree".

Do not hesitate to embrace the inner child in you. Go and climb that tree! It's a fun and liberating experience.

There is no entrance fee but there are locals who will offer to take pictures for you so you may want to give them some tip.

2. Ermita Hill or Ermita Park

Ermita Hill in Baler, Aurora is one of the best places to go if you want to relax while enjoying the scenic view of the Pacific Ocean.

The hill had its own share of history as it became the temporary resettlement of some families who were devastated by the tsunami that almost wiped out Baler in the early 1700s.

Today, Ermita Hill is one of the most visited tourist spots in Baler as it is a perfect place for picnics and picture taking.

3. Ditumabo Falls

Also known as the Mother Falls, Ditumabo Falls is located in San Luis, Aurora. This natural attraction is famous among tourists as it is the grandest waterfalls in the province.

Ditumabo waterfalls is an hour trek from the jump off point in Barangay Ditumabo. The trek is not that easy as the trail is rough and rocky. But don't worry, all your effort will be paid off once you've reached the falls. The majestic view and the cold water from the Sierra Madre Mountain Range will definitely remove all your tiredness away!

4. Dicasalarin Cove

Another must visit destination in Baler is the secret beach in Dicasalarin. The beach cove is privately owned by the Angaras but it is open for tourists.
