Travel 2019: Leyte - Biliran

First of Summer 2019!

It was 2017 when I first visited Leyte (click here for the details). Two years later, I decided to come back. Yay! This time around, we added the province of Biliran in our itinerary.

How to get there?
Leyte is a province in the Eastern Visayas region. There are direct flights from Manila going to the capital of Leyte which is Tacloban City. Estimated flight time is more or less one hour.

Where to stay?
In Tacloban, I recommend the hostel where we stayed last 2017 which is the Yellow Doors Hostel. It's rustic-themed interiors and interesting history is an experience by itself.
In Biliran, we stayed at Agta Beach Resort in Almeria. If you are looking for a good hotel by the beach, this is the place to stay.

Itinerary
Here's a sample itinerary you can copy if you are planning for a Leyte-Biliran trip:
Agta Beach Resort
It is a simple beach resort. The rooms have all the basic needs, nothing fancy, just what you can expect from a provincial beach resort. But what I love about the resort is its location which is by the beach. The area is peaceful and relaxing.
Ulan-Ulan Falls
A must-see when you are in Almeria is the Ulan-Ulan falls. Going to the falls requires a quick and smooth trek from the drop-off point. As you head towards the water, you will be welcomed by this amazing 90-meter waterfalls and its cool breeze.
Bethany Hill Weluisa Farm
Bethany Hill is an overlooking farm resort in Almeria. The farm offers a scenic view of the island. This is the best place for a night cap and sunset viewing.
Sambawan Island
Sambawan Island is an hour boat ride away from Agta Beach Resort. Sambawan is a small uninhabited paradise consisting of interconnecting islands and islets. The white sand beach is perfect for snorkeling, swimming and beach bumming while the hill in the main island is the best part to see the breathtaking scenery from up above.
Kalanggaman Island
Been here two years ago and I was surprised and very happy that Kalanggaman didn't change much. Despite its popularity through the years, it is nice to see that the locals with the cooperation of the tourists have kept the beauty of the island intact. For me, Kalanggaman Island still has the best sand bar!
Tacloban City Tour
If you still have enough time, you can check out some of the iconic places near Tacloban City. Some of which are the San Juanico Bridge, the MacArthur Landing National Memorial Park and the Sto Nino Shrine.

The summer girl is happy!
