How to get there

From the FX Terminal in front of Jollibee - Cubao Farmers, ride an FX going to Montalban, Rizal. If you are a large group, you can negotiate with the driver and he could drop you off directly to the tourism office in Brgy Wawa. If not, you will have to ride a tricycle from the the terminal in Rodriguez to Brgy Wawa.

The trail

To start off the trek, you need to register in the DENR tourism office and pay PHP2 registration fee. A guide will be assigned to your group. There is no fixed rate for the guide but suggested rate is PHP400 per group. After registration in DENR, you also have to register in the Brgy Hall and pay any amount for donation.

Mt Pamitinan and its neighbor mountain, Mt Binacayan, are famous not just because of being a part of the Philippine history and legend but also because of being an adventure destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Aside from mountain climbing there are various activities which you can explore within the area like caving, rappelling, mountain biking and swimming in the Wawa Dam.

Being a lover of adventure, I really enjoyed our Mt Pamitinan climb. The trail is established but it is very challenging because of the rocky parts. We had to do some rock climbing or bouldering to reach the peak.

If you will consider to climb Mt Pamitinan too, I recommend to put your gloves on. It will protect you from the jagged rock edges and thorny vines along the trail.

After less than two hours of rock climbing and trekking, our group reached the top. We enjoyed the feel of nature's fresh air while overlooking the Wawa River and the surrounding mountains -- the Sierra Madre mountain range, Mt Binacayan, Mt Ayaas and Mt Hapunang Banoy.

I am happy to share this experience with fun friends!

And of course, this trip wouldn't be complete without our bangin and buwis-buhay stunts!

Next Stop: Mt Binacayan! Let's? :)
