It was a long and tiring journey but it was worth the climb!

Mt Balingkilat (1100+ MASL)
Jumpoff: Sitio Cawag Settlement, Subic Town
LLA: 14.89 N, 120.11 E (est.), 1100 MASL
Days required / Hours to summit: 1-2 days / 4-6 hours
Specs: Minor climb, Difficulty 5/9, Trail class 1-4
Details from http://www.pinoymountaineer.com/2008/07/mt-balingkilat-1100.html

How to get there

We took a bus going to Olongapo then a jeepney going to the Subic Police Station. We passed a letter of intent to the Subic police. After registering our names and taking a group photo, we had our lunch/snack at a Jollibee branch near the station. From there our contact fetched us and took us to the jump off point via jeepney.

The trail
This is a long overdue post as I have been busy for the past months but up until now I can still recall the long, hot and tiring climb our group was able to survive. All the sweat and almost tears were rewarded with the picturesque view along the trail and from the summit.
This is me enjoying the rest stop.

On the route going down, everyone was looking forward to reach the Nagsasa cove. In this picture, it was still miles away!
If you are planning to climb this mountain, plan ahead and prepare yourself physically and mentally. Pinoy Mountaineer may have classified this climb as Minor but for me this is one of the most challenging mountains I have ever climbed.
